How to Connect Any MCP Agent to WordPress with Agent Connector

Follow the instructions below to connect any agent that speaks MCP to your WordPress site with Agent Connector.

1. Install and activate Agent Connector on your WordPress site.
2. In your WordPress dashboard, in the left menu, click Agent Connector, navigate to the Connect tab (open by default), and click Get Started.
3. Choose Other and click Continue.
4. Click Generate app password.
5. Under How to connect, copy the mcpServers JSON block.
6. Add the block to your agent’s MCP configuration, then restart your agent.
7. Recommended – Back in WordPress, open Agent Connector → Settings and install the Universal Abilities plugin — this gives your AI agent abilities to make common changes to your WordPress site.
8. Ask your agent to do something on your WordPress site.

The connection runs through a small local helper your agent starts automatically, so the computer running your agent needs Node.js installed.
